my pbro came to me saying that there were a lot of people offended by this week’s glee episode. so taking her word for it, i don’t know why i keep getting surprised at this offense that seems to come out of nowhere from me. all she could describe to me is they were offended by the topics that addressed the gay community, teen suicide and bullying. i can see why people would be “offended” by the first, but the rest baffles me. i always praise glee for being one of the few shows that pushes the topics, let alone humanizes teens/young adults. the characters are on the show are portrayed as teenagers, who are growing up in high school. like all of us, it was a turbulent time (still is even past our teens). these topics are always a prominent issue with our age group. not sure how people can look at it and be offended. its like telling someone the truth when they asked for it.
